The canoe trip on August 14, 2004 started out to be a lot of fun. Actually it was a lot of fun. But it did get to be a pain at one point -- when my leg broke. During the second stop to swim and goof-off, I was avoiding being dunked by one of students when a snap was heard. The end result turned out to be a clean break in the small bone of my left leg.
Doctor Winder provide me with printouts of the three x-rays they did the Monday after I broke my leg and the three x-rays they did two weeks after the surgery. In the post surgery photos you can see the plate, the seven screws and the staples they used to close the incision.
